The British Is Coming
…no not Larry Flint’s original headline to some toothless woman’s layout he did in 1976! It’s what Alex was saying after watching Schoolhouse Rock last night.
Alex and I took a walk to Sullivan’s after work. He was in a good place. He had a fun day with his friends Luke and Sophia. We hung out under the Sullivan’s sign shooting the breeze (mostly about how we were pretty sure that the sign was stable). The boy was happy with the results of the SOX/Tigers game…daddy, not so much.
Before bed we watched a ton of Schoolhouse Rock on You Tube. It has been the replacement for our On Demand and the boy loves You Tube. He’s obsessed with ‘No More Kings’ – Alex is becoming a good modern man, rejecting the divine right of kings…or maybe he just loves the part where the colonist gives a raspberry across the Atlantic Ocean to George III. He also loves the Shot Heard ‘Round the World…and says “The British is coming! The British is coming!” after every time we watch it.
I can’t wait to show him Jordan’s shot on Craig Ehlo. Now that’s some American history.

MJ was on "60 Minutes" Sunday. It was a repeat, but I still watched it like it was the first time I'd ever seen the guy.

Very nice story. I like your stories about Alex. It says a lot about Alex but also a lot about how much you adore and admire him. It is quite nice.
Yeah, I think I would want to be friends with that guy even if he wasn't my kid.
