Absolutely Glorious
...weather we are having. Unbelievable. Did guitar lessons last night and ran my ass out to South Pointe for a few quick holes. Packed up the Dog and boogied to Sugar Grove.
By the way, if I ever opened a strip joint in Sugar Grove I'd name it The Walls of Sugar Grove.
It'll be the worst name since my club in the Middle East closed.
The Gaza Strip Joint.
All this mumbo jumbo bullshit from Hank Jr. of the Yankees about inter league play and telling the NL to join the 20th if not the 21st Century...
Please.
I am no defender of the NL style of baseball. People who know me know my position on watching a guy batting 5th or 6th in an NL lineup get a hit with one out, the 7th and 8th hitters get shit to hit while everyone waits for the pitcher to ground into the predictable inning ending double play (minus your occasional Z and a few other guys who care about hitting and can do it).
I think it's punk rock to defend the AL style, especially because so many NL fans have been telling me for years that the AL should eliminate the DH. My response has always been "You don't watch the AL so why should you give a fuck? I like the DH. Fuck you! Don't try to change the style of baseball you don't even watch!"
So I don't blame y'all if you tell Hank Jr "Fuck you! Don't try to change the style of baseball you don't even own!"
I'm sure folks will come up with something a bit more clever than that.
The one thing I'd like to see change w/ the NL and AL...
How can the schedule be changed so the Chicago WHITE SOX play the Pirates 17 more times?
Their bullpen sucks in some special ways.

The Pirates are the cure for what ails ya. Nice to have time to beat up on some weaklings as we move into the cross-town classic.
Doesn't that same phenomenon with the pitcher due up prompt the double-switch (the NL's claim to strategic supremacy)? I'll give you that the AL extends the careers of some guys who should have quit a long time ago by allowing them to not play a position. It's kinda like T-Ball for MLB's geriatric crowd.
Ed-Please read chapter 8 in "The Thinking Fan's Guide to Baseball"
regarding the DH.
As for anybody named Hank Jr. they will always be second to their dad
