Quit Yer Bellyachin

Let me preface this by saying most professional athletes face tons of pressure and have more difficult jobs than I do...

but I don't want to hear the damned Bears and the stupid Vikings complain about playing on a frozen field at the University of Minnesota.

YOU ARE FOOTBALL PLAYERS!

IT IS MINNESOTA IN FUCKING DECEMBER!

YOU ARE NAMED AFTER VIKINGS AND BEARS - PLAY IN THE COLD AND LIKE IT!

Sure, real bears hibernate in the winter but if that's the case they can either shut the hell up and go to sleep (and not complain about the cold anymore) or go out there and maul the damned Vikings and shut them the hell up about playing in the cold.

Dammit.

Everybody is a stupid crybaby except for me.

yeah- and think of how little snow plow drivers are paid to keep the streets clear. I would think that any snow plow driver would gladly jump at taking a fraction of the football players' salaries and rejoice. I think all pro sports players are overpaid crybabies who even the best of them are paid 15x more than they deserve. For 15 mil a year, they should be willing to play ball in Hades!

I, too, got tired of hearing about how hard the field would be (agreed - if the NFL says it's okay, that's that) but there were ancillary issues involved:

1. The league has been fining players for "devastating hits" and even when those hits are legal. This is in the name of player safety. Seems hypocritical to force the same players to perform on a surface the league wouldn't allow normally.

2. The Vikings are out of the race, but the Bears were still in the hunt before this game and had made it through the season virtually injury free. The cold or even pain wasn't so much a concern as the risk of injury to a key player.

3. If you're the Bears, why not try to get the game moved to a more location-neutral venue? Might as well try, at least.

Considering the outcome of the game, I'm glad they played it there and won how they did. For all the grousing beforehand, they showed up ready to play.
