Mr. Motto

bigDrag – We’re in the process of developing a motto.

I got a text from a pallie right after the show w/ the Dollyrots ended. My friend couldn’t make it and wanted to know how things went.

My response: “Show was weird.”

It was. About half of it was the best we can play…the other half things felt like they could fall apart at any minute.

At one point, 2/3rds of our quartet seemed to be playing five different songs…

…at least that’s how our manager Yogi Berra described it.

We fucked up part of the show big time and I thought ‘bigDrag – Not living up to our no motto’

The parts that were great were totally worth it. Do I wish we played a perfect show? Actually, no. I’m not chasing the perfect show because I’m not sure there is anything we can do to make that happen. We can practice until we play our set with metronomic perfection but that would just make me feel icky.

The unpredictability is part of whatever rock is. I don’t necessarily want to play a show like that again but I’m not too racked up about what happened either. We’ll figure out what to do next.
