My son called me tonight to say even though he is having fun on his vacation, he really misses me. I heard Kim in the background saying that Alex was homesick. He said, “No Mommy. I’m Dadsick.”

Am I a bad person for wishing someone would take my kids on vacation for a week? BTW Ed, where the hell is the rage over the Sox and their crappy play lately? I count on you for that. I nearly vomited watching the end of the game Saturday night. 9th inning, two on two out, ROOKIE batter, Michael Young on deck. Friggin' Jenks fancies himself a finesse pitcher. Throws him a couple lame-ass curves on both 2-2 and 3-2. Walks him. WTF. The rest is history as you know.............Swagger. That's what's missing this year. That feeling that you have to beat me by hitting my best pitch. The whole pitching staff (except Garland) is missing that swagger. I think someone beat them all with a stupidstick.

Knowing my kids like I do, if they were having fun they wouldn't think twice about me. I'd like to be the one doing the missing.
And another thing Ed, what the hell was Ozzie doing putting his personal feelings above the team by ordering Garland to participate in a beanball skirmish? JG is the only guy pitching worth a damn, the team is slumping, and yet Ozzie was willing to sacrifice his best pitcher just to make a point to a no-name pitcher. Gheesh.
Speaking of Ozzie, how about stupidly removing Thome in the 8th on Saturday for pinch runner Mackowiak? Guess who came up in the 9th with two outs and two on, down by two?
Mackowiak. I suspect the Garland thing is just damage control.

All the sense in the world actually. I learned a great mantra during one of my hospital vacations - 'I must choose to live in a friendly universe'. Dwelling on positive helps one be positive. Being grateful helps bring me happiness. You rock. I sound like an idiot.
You do not sound like an idiot. We live in a world that on the one hand believes we have a RIGHT to happiness and on the other, pretends to be too cool to notice when we have good things in our lives or good things have us or whatever. It takes a lot of looking to find what little or big happiness may be there for us. It takes more work to ackowledge that happiness. We all need to notice the beuaty and love that is all around us every day eh.
And if you don't, I'm gonna come out of the bloggosphere and start kicking ass!!!
