Too Much Love

Too much love for all my friends who came out to see the show at the House last night. Everybody was very nice about everything. How often does that happen?

Set List

1. Airplane Mary
2. Raging Moon
3. Rally Round the Flag
4. Kish
5. One Solar Day
6. Mt. Rushmore
7. When Did You Leave Heaven?
8. Acres of Gold
9. Standing Invitation
10. To Bea or Be
11. The Idiot Prize
12. It’s Four AM Somewhere…dedicated to our friend whose last words may or may not be “Sent from Blackberry Handheld”

Was the show a success? I don't know what everyone else thought. I'm pretty sure I didn’t outstay my welcome.

Alex’s kindergarten teacher came to the gig and that was awesome. A bunch of Brooks people showed up at almost 10:30 and only saw the last few numbers. Kim got their money back and we met a group of those folks over at the Irish pub across the street. Joe and Steener came over with us and it was fun to have some post show drinks with them.

I was a little pissed when I realized I still had drink tickets in my pocket.

That is a sure sign of something. I never used to leave with drink tickets in my pocket.

Speaking of drinks and pockets our friend William T Garver will have a cool announcement on ePissy soon. I don’t think I’m stealing any thunder by saying I’m proud of my little buddy here before he actually posts his announcement on the ePissy. Besides, nobody really reads the blogs on Saturday (unless we’re going nuts about football or baseball). I’m usually writing for me on the weekend.

On the writing for me front, it was so gratifying doing Kish again last night. The song is running longer than the river itself at this point in time. But I get to do so much with it. I’ve been lucky so far that audiences have allowed me this indulgence.

I am and will probably always be torn between writing/performing as entertainment, and doing something that I feel that I have to do.

One bummer, I didn’t get any new names on my little e-mail list and we weren’t able to give away as many CDs as I would’ve liked to new people.

A few girls hooted at me.

That’s something.

Too much love to my friends though for showing up. Thanks gang.
