Dork-Ass Flashcards
Are their any other kinds?
Went to Lockport on Saturday and did some studying for work. I blocked out time for study on three different days last week, but due to some personal/family health things, that didn't happen. The important thing is the people I love are ok. Work stuff will always be there and I will get this shit done.
Alex hung out with my folks and I found a place in the Lockport Public Library and worked on my dork-ass flash cards. Next time I'm going to the Joliet Public Library. It's a more beautiful building and there will probably be fewer children running around. I'm not trying to say anything other than, in my experience there aren't that many kids coming to Saturday programs at the old Joliet Library building on Ottawa (one block up from the boats).
I'd take my kid down there. He loves blackjack. Maybe it could be a reward for reading.
Sorry people who taking reading seriously. If I took reading and writing less seriously in my life, I'd be a fuck of a lot happier right now. Right!
Where did that come from?
Kim did our Aldi chips and salsa meal when Alex and I returned to DK. Then we had a second family movie night and watched the first half of Hard Day's Night and another Star Trek.
Sunday we couldn't make it to 8am Mass so the little platoon got its shit together and went to 10:15am. Had a nice talk with John and Janine and Msgr Nelson after Mass. Kim reminded him of Alex's first Communion and the boy just stood there with the host in his mouth. He told Alex, "Don't forget, you need to chew Jesus."
NOT THAT YOU SICK BASTARDS!
Well, in a way Jesus says when you get to the heart of the translations that his followers must "gnaw on his flesh" I am not saying anything about other Christians and their interpretation, or anything about non-believers who probably think I am out of my mind.
I am just willing to admit that for Catholics, our take on this stuff means we can't and shouldn't call other religions or vampirism weird. We profess to eat flesh and drink blood. I'm just saying.
Where did that come from?
That's twice now.
Alex and I had fun watching the Bulls win Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Then he washed the trumpet. I found good directions on the Tubes of You and Jupiter (the name etched on his horn) looks as beautiful as the day I signed the rental agreement.
Score!
