No Title

My mom's brother passed away last night. My uncle was a private man. I don't think he'd even want me to mention his name on the blog. There is a thing with my family where some people insulate themselves...I'm not sure why this is. It is something that I have sturggled with myself. I am lucky to have wonderful friends who do not give up on me (no matter how much of a dick I can be).

He didn't want a wake or a funeral. We will have a Mass for him next Saturday at the old family Church in Joliet.

I talk the big talk about what my faith teaches me...I should be able to look at this situation with my uncle and say: "He was isolated, he felt lonely and broken but he is home now and all is well."

...but I don't think I can say that. Maybe he, and others who express this desire to be private are right. You run the risk of making a fool out of yourself, and making your feelings appear cheap.
