GDJ Another Pass

In between this spike, the Devil and me
Is our little town like a sign of gravity
I threw that useless jewel into the sea
And much to my surprise it came right back to me
Yesterday I had another useless dream
Of you and me and a snake rolling down the street
It turned its head to smile and show its teeth
And it had that famous benzene ring for me
Was it for you or me or Kekule
A faceless tale that gently fades away
And just between the snake and you and me
The joke is on our town and gravity
