Furd

Tonight bigDrag puts the ROCK in Rockford

and the ILL in Illinois

And my favorite old and tired expression describes perfectly my feelings this morning.

I feel so old and tired I don't know which way is up the hill.

But I will figure that out soon enough today. It's always a good day when you wake up in the morning and know you are going to play a rockshow that night.

Also on the plus side, Kim got a fantastic new cut and she looks great. If you see me complaining about anything, do me a favor and kick me in the bag.

Thnx

I like the Old Dog's saying better: "putting the FORD back in Rockford".

I am tired today, but we got another whole studio session out of that. Not bad.

How'd the show go big bro?

Today was the first day of REAL rain here... everyone was pretty shocked and annoyed when they all were going "OOH look at all this rain! What a horrible storm!" and I was like--- hmm. no thunder, no lightning, rain just falling down, no bounce up, no blowing sideways. This is no storm, it's a nice gentle midwest summer rain. I'm glad I'm not out on the highways right now. Yes, they're a little slick from 5 months of no rain and crud buildup, but it's like the entire population forgot how to drive in the rain in the past few months and there's wrecks everywhere.

My little one got sent home from school sick for the first time today. I though she might be a little off this morning, but she insisted that she was okay. I picked my battle-- I HAD to be at school and didn't want the fight, besides, she seemed only a little tired. Bus gets her at 6:55 (she's the last pick-up-- kindergarten starts at 7:55-- I'm sure she's usually sitting somewhere at school by 7:15 or so but that's a whole other story)... I'm getting ready for work and the phone rings at 7:30-- it's the school, she's thrown up. Sigh. Poor thing was beside herself, not about getting sick, but about having to go home from school. The smart secretaries told her that she'd be marked as coming to school that day and it wouldn't break her perfect attendance and she stopped fighting it. Probably the silliest couple of minutes I'll ever have at her school.... well, no one says sick 5 year olds are rational. She and her dad dropped me off at school, went home, and went back to bed. Thankfully (so far...) no repeat performances. Sounds good for a cool rainy day. Too bad I was stuck at school with all the kids and two staff down (a sub sort of helped for the third staff that was out). TGIF. SO GLAD it's the weekend.

Hope little M is feeling better. No rest for the P's when the kid is sick.

no kidding! Despite the waking every so often and whimpering and the stream of uckiness coming from her nostrils, she was up at her "i've got to get up for school" time. Sigh.
