Living Like Grand Theft Something

One of the bad effects of writing/editing with most of my free time is rearing its ugly head. I'm making bad/nigh indefensible arguments in public. That's the power of fiction, even bad/amateur fiction.

It's like booze...

Actually it's more like playing some crazy-ass, driving & shoot 'em up video game. You play all day, drive around and do a bunch of crazy shit in the game and then you drive your real car home from your friend's house. Some weird, uninhibited (or stupid) part of you thinks you can do all or some of the shit you did in the game in real life...on the actual road. You can't. Lesson: I've got to work on keeping my mouth fucking shut in public.

Once I get beyond exchanging pleasantries...that's when the unpleasantries begin.

That's why I need to get back in a band. You can come up with great ideas, or you think they're great...but they don't live in your head or in your computer the whole time. You present them to collaborators and they shoot 75% of them down. It makes me feel like shit, but in a good and useful way.

Wed Sept 28 Brilliant Septembers

The WhiteSOX season ended with Chris Sale walking in the game winning runs and the SOX bats doing nothing in response. It was utterly horrible and totally fitting...or totally horrible and utterly fitting. I can't decide.

Plumbing issues forced the little family to go out to Twins for dinner. I was able to enjoy the company of my crew while taking in bits of all games from an incredible night of baseball. Congrats to the Cardinals and Rays. What a way to cap off brilliant Septembers for both clubs.

Yay baseball!
