Cub Fans to Cheer for SOX?
If they know what's good for them, that is exactly what they will do...at least for the beginning of this week.
Why?
Well, if the Good Guys in Black sweep the Indians and turn Chief Wahoo into Chief Boo Hoo, then I think the Indians become a seller.
What do they have to sell?
They have an unsignable (not an actual word but this is baseball so just pretend I'm Casey fucking Stengal)....they have an unsignable, but truly awesome pitcher in the oversized form of one Carsten Charles Sabathia.
Why would the Cubbies want a guy named Carsten?
No offense to anyone but upon acquiring Mr. Carsten Charles Sabathia, Mr. Carlos Zambrano instantly becomes the best, and highest paid #2 pitcher in baseball.
The Cubs would be doing my beloved SOX a big time favor taking ole C.C. out of the AL Central. He has bewitched and bewildered the team I love for too long. Hear me now and believe me later, Sabathia will kick major ass for the Cubs and probably punch their ticket to and through the playoffs (what happens in October is not for me to say, I've only predicted that the Cubs will MAKE the W.S.). The bottom third of most NL lineups will be like a lunch break for Sabathia after facing some of the best hitting in baseball night after night toeing the rubber for Cleveland.
Make that a smoke break, CC is already fat enough. No one wants Sabathia and Zambrano to become the 2008 Cubs' answer to the Reuschels.
Incidentally, Paul Reuschel put in some time with the Tribe.
Wouldn't C.C. look great in those glasses?
Hopefully the SOX hold up their end and dash any remaining hopes the Indians have at salvaging their season. And Cubs organization please remember the Indians are not the Pirates. They are an actual team and not some meth lab posing as a team that you have all the evidence you need to put them away for a long long time...
They will expect actual players in a trade for one of the best pitchers in baseball, so try to offer them more than Corey and Eric Patterson's legally blind third cousin and a faded cum-towel with the "C" logo on it.
That is all.

I cheer for the Sox when there are no Sox fans around.
I like the team, players and manager. I just can't stand most Sox fans and have yet to met one that doesn't think they know more about baseball than any Cub fan.
When I watched the Sox and Cubs two weeks ago. I had to hear it from some douche bag Sox fan on how I didn't know anything about baseball, blah, blah, blay...
So I had to go through a little stat and history lesson. Then I was told how all Cub fans are banwagon fans. Which I again had to reply. I had six season tickets for 3 years and 4 season ticket for 3 years. That an't chump change. Not to mention going to 30 + games a year for that time.
I then started throwing out some Sox stats... to my suprise this douche was the bandwagon fan. I will say he had that fucking smug attitude down cold though.
So I will cheer for the Sox, when no Sox fans are around. I would REALLY like to have CC also. It would shore up our pitching staff and make us the team to beat in the NL.
so just pretend I'm Casey fucking Stengal
I'm pretending you're Dennis Miller because I don't get half of your references.
Faded cum towels are deal breakers? This is new to me.
Meat Head, tomorrow's post will contain actual evidence proving once and for all that I don't know shit about baseball regardless of whether I am a SOX fan or Cub fan...
Since I have chosen to blog it is my duty to throw a bunch of shit against the interwebs to see if anything sticks
Chris, that makes two of us
Actually my reference was not a good one. Casey Stengal was famous for mashing up the language...but more with expressions or malaprophisms (sp...Jeanz? Ringo? someone)....
but Stengal didn't make up words like that I don't think.
I should have gone:
"so just pretend I'm Don fucking King"
I don't clam to know much but at least I can give examples of great players that aren't on sport center or baseball tonight the day of your isiteful sports talk. This ass clown tried to tell me the Card Cub rivalry was a bunch of bull and product of the 2000's. I mentioned that our rival with the Cardnials is generational and you just have to go back to the to when my pops watched and his storys of the 60's and 70's. With the complete game pitching knock down drag out battles between Jenkins and Gibson. This idiot said who... which made me want to hit him.
This douche was spouting off about Cubs always suck and never had pitching and the fans are just a bunch of drunks. The only reason people have ever watched the Cubs is Wrigle. Well the fans are a bunch of drunks but Wrigle has not always attracted the fans it does today. The remarketing of the Wrigleville area and the pitch of the Freindly Confines were genius. It also has to do with everyone else tore down there parks so it is one of the last old parks.
Again I love talking bar baseball and blogging with others about it. I can't stand salty drunkin douche bags who try and rain on my parade when I am enjoying a baseball game. For what ever reason people find it infections when they see a couple of guys sitting at a bar glued to the TV and cheering EVER pitch and hit. It brings on bandwanoners and I welcome them. The Sox might get some more fans if they stopped acting like a bunch of smug dill weeds.
It doesn't happen often that the Cubs are in first place so back off...
Plus CC can swing the bat too. Did you see that 440 foot HR he hit on Sunday? That was him, wasn't it?
The White Sox have had better success against CC the last couple of years. Only question is - how long can a pitcher that size stay healthy?
I don't know about the homer OleKobe...but as far as Mr. Sabathia's gurth I think you are right on the mark Cousin o Mine. If I were the Cubs I'd trade for him, not caring if I signed him or not....he is worth the most when he s playing for his next contract. No matter who the Cubs might miss in the years to come I think even a half year of CC this year...and let him go eat someone else's clubhouse buffet is the smartest move for our north side friends.
