mo

It's too late now but I used to know better
Than to take a little shit just to keep it all together
When you realize that someone is holding out
It leaves you all fucked up and down in the mouth

And I feel so half awake
That's another thought, for another day
I feel so half awake
You put me down and put me away

And here's another thought we'd be better off without
From the great midwest while the rain is falling down

You should've known then what you should've known better
But It's all over now
They took all the shit just to keep it together
While you were holding out

Don't worry about the comments - it's gonna be a song. Old Dog and ChrisB came up with this thing at practice the other night and this will go on top of that. Yeah - there's that level of sophistication to our songwriting - it's the "this goes with that" principle.

WHAT THE HELL AM I TALKING ABOUT???

I think it says something about my peculiar mind that I understand WHAT THE HELL YOU WERE TALKING ABOUT.

Maybe it's my lovely depression or maybe it's because I've just had the worst year of my life (things seem to be looking up) but this particular part keeps staying with me:

You should've known then what you should've known better
But It's all over now
They took all the shit just to keep it together
While you were holding out

Thanks for the comments - this is the first time I've ever done something like this...put something out in a semi public place (my blog???) before I'd really finished writing something. It'll probably go through one more generation of a line here - a word change there...

I sang the song along with a CD from practice for my wife - she thinks I'm being artsy fartsy only putting the chorus in once - at the end...but I kind of mention it in the beginning...or use similar words

I'm glad you find some comfort in it. Hang in there kid - the WhiteSox won the World Series.

Ms Kaka had a great line on one of her recent entries that she's older but it beats being dead.

Ok - I'm not offering any help - and I just got back from the friggin studio and it's fucking late and I have to drive my kid to Lockport tomorrow and....

Heh, Lockport. I spent my Freshmam year at Lockport Township High School before being shipped out to an all-girls Catholic school.

And I'm in now way asking for help. Di is doing just fine. I just wanted to encourage you to post b/c I like your lyrics.

I'm getting started on my bloggy so I can post there all night instead of here, at Kaka's etc. Insomnia icks ass.

Thanks - give everyone a heads up when you get your blog started...

Our friend Mr. Gunderson is looking to increase everyone's traffic and is doing some webring thing that I don't unerstand.

What year did you go to Lockport? I went there, I was a full time sub there and ran the in school detention. I am so friggin' old.

...and thanks for the kind words about the, uh - words.

I went to "East" for the 89-90 school year where the cutting and drinking were getting the best of my grades.

So I held my breath for 3 years at Mt Assisi in Lmont until early '93.

'93-'97 I was in Action City - totally behaving myself! Har

I don't know if you know this or if you care, but the title of your topic/song, "mo", is a really derogatory term for gay men.

FYI

Political correctness isn't exactly my forte (I'm more of a high heeled foot in my mouth kind of gal) but I wanted you to know.

I suppose people will know my blog is up when my name has a link. {TOMORROW!!!!!} {ed, it secretly does have a link now but i tell bloggy that I'm still an other so I can finish it - har!}

uh, I didn't know that about the term "mo". Where does it come from, what does it mean? It is my shortcut for saying "more" - because I started the song and wanted to add "more"

Why "mo" to make fun of gay men? Just a sign that bigots are idiots. Mo was my favorite Stooge - he was their leader. Maybe this is one more sign that I am an idiot - even though I'm not a bigot.

By the way - I studied drinking and cutting at Lockport.

I figured this out right after I wrote the last comment. I'm stupid. I don't mean to offend anyone tho - gay, straight, bi, transgender - all are welcome here. Hell, I'd let g bushy post if he could figure out how to use a computer.
