Two Mulligan Birdies and a Microphone
Alex and I were on the road to Joliet (a bad idea for a Bob Hope Bing Crosby picture) before 10:00am.
New porno name – Bung Crosby?
Polka Mass and saw tons of people at the park that I haven’s seen in years…and the usual crowd that I haven’t seen since last year. Alex had fun on all the rides at St. Joe’s Park, including his favorite – ‘Try Not to Step on Fresh Graves as we Walk Through the Cemetery to See How Our Dead Relatives are Doing’
Cousin Mike and his crew were there and it was swell to see them. I mean, at the park not the cemetery - alive and well…they are cool and definitely alive as can be. Not zombies.
That was me this morning.
Had to make a few other stops and at one of them it looked like there was an underage midget drinking…
…or maybe Daddy’s been drinking.
Can’t wait to see SOX/cubs highlights. Too much party to watch the game today. Alex was perfect…when is he not?
Golfed and gave myself two Mulligan birdies. What does that mean? I have no idea.
It’s later and I watched the highlights along with a bunch of MLB TV crap. I still can’t believe Carlos Zambrano is as baseball stupid as he is. The guy can speak two languages and can be more engaging than me in my native tongue (this sentence being evidence of that) but all it takes is a little backtalk from two career minor leaguers and the other team’s pitching coach and piece of shit dude guy is completely off his game. I guess talent and personality don’t always translate into high pressure, baseball situations. Cubs fans ought to kick Jim Hendry in the crawdads for paying this douchebag like an ace.

Just a Little Drinky
Kim and Alex got back from the burbs super late on Friday but we still did Family Movie Night - the first Transformers. My idea. Meh...but they seemed to like it. I had fun keeping the boy up late to watch stuff being destroyed.
Saturday I worked on bills, household management stuff...working on the budget to make sure Kim has all the dough she needs to finish the kitchen project then I headed out to Lockport.
Came back and found out that Kim booked Brandon C. to watch Alex. My lady and I had a night on the town and I got just a little drinky.

Ditchie Workie
Trained some folks at work today. Ditched out early and golfed 18 @ River Heights. Love love love to be out in the sun, although I should’ve zinced my nose or some shit like that. I actually played well. Booked the studio for next Wed (Larry was busy Tuesday…the other fellas were able to move their schedules around). Wed July 1st we’ll work on the new riff tentatively titled, “The Irrelevant In the Room.”
Yeah, I can’t title shit.
Organizing Part II of MOI for Emily G continued, ordered the new cabinets with Kim, had quiet dinner with the little family and watched the replay of the SOX game. Great job Scottie Podz! This was a nice series for the boys, too bad they couldn’t gain any ground on the damned Tigers.
Damned cubs.
They’ll be in town tomorrow. If Soto makes the right calls, who knows? Cub pitching could serve up a one-hitter tomorrow against my favorite team of all time.

We Got Bacon
SUNDAY June 7
Mass @ 10:15 and it was standing room only. Grass, golf and lots of lots of lots of basketball w/ Alex. We’ve developed a new way of playing HORSE. When he gets a rebound, dad gets a letter. Jasmine watched the boy in the evening. I took Kim to Johnny’s and toasted her for another successful year in the classroom. Then I bought her some big ass pork chops and we chowed the fuck down. Saw the new Star Trek flick and got home late.
MONDAY June 8
Alex had a game tonight and it was fun although there were issues with Cookie. Alex is on the Scrappers this year and the picture on the jersey is of a tough looking, cartoon dog showing teeth. All the kids on our team have adopted Cookie as the mascot since she has the fierce underbite, hence the Chihuahua has been to all the games (and most of the practices). Tonight the other team had a dog on their side and Cookie barked her fucking ass off at the mascot for the other team. At one point Cookie was so intense that Kim & thought she might be scaring the younger children on our side. Kim & I took separate cars to the game and after the boy’s last AB she told me to take the crazy Chihuahua home in the bar car. As Cookie and I were making our exit the coach of the other team called out, “Hey Posega? Why’s that dog only barking when our kids are in the box?” To which I responded, “Ya ain’t cheatin ya ain’t trying Coach. That’s just Cookie being Cookie.” Seriously, she is one barking jag away from a 50 game suspension being handed down by the Pinto League Commissioner. Once again, Bud Selig declined to comment.
TUESDAY June 9
Rock practice. We solidified overdubbing dates (next Tuesday at Larry’s) and everybody seems to be on board with Saturday June 20 for bD golf outing. Those not interested in golf will of course be required to meet us at Rosita’s to witness the annual Breaking up of the Band dinner (or at the very least, a Costanza-esque airing of the grievances).
WED June 10 – Walking on air because Kim is reading my novel and I am out of expressions. Went to the dentist and got cavities drilled and refilled for the first time in 20 years. No shot. Well, I had my Jamie when I got home but none of the boring – make me – talk – like Brando crap. I don’t think Alex and I can go to Milwaukee this weekend and I am sad.
Thursday June 11
Played 18 after work today because I am a fuck it all kinda guy. Kim invited Janine over for dinner. She made her good carrot/pasta dish and it reacted in an interesting way with the spicy vegetable juice I drank after coming off the course. Let’s just say there was a hot ring around my rosy. Alex and I helped Kim bring the last of the stuff and the class pets home for the year. She left a note for the summer school teacher on the Dri Erase board and we closed the door behind us.
Friday June 12
Stayed up late, fucking late last night writing but I am literally one detail away from finishing MOI. Alex had a game so we had a short family movie night. It was the creepy Star Trek the Next G when those crawdads attached themselves to the brains of Starfleet commanders. Alex was a little creeped out so I acted out a scenario where one of those creatures tried to clamp on to Cookie’s brain but it just kept sliding off her head because there’s nothing in there to latch on to…stupid fucking Chihuahua.
SATURDAY June 13
Rain. No Milwaukee trip but a great day screwing around – around the house. Worked on the bills, Alex went to Finn’s so Mrs. Posega and I had some quality alone time in the afternoon. Alex came back and the little family took in 4:30pm Saturday Mass. Kim got a wonderful letter from T today and we are overjoyed. Finn came later for a sleepover and I kept the boys up really fucking late watching Rocky IV. They both pretended to be two different Rockies fighting two different Dragos. At least they are beginning to grasp the concept of alternate realities. Great. We’ve got a coupla Philip K. Dicks on our hands. Bacon knocked in a coupla runs and that was exciting. Love that #15, the saltiest number of them all. Up late, late, late again reading and rearranging this instrumental thing in my head. Leaving for Sandwich to golf with Dennis S. @ 6:30 Sunday morning…

Six Thumbs Up
SUNDAY May 31
Cookie barked her ass off and woke us up early. I’m finding out the hard way that there is no snooze button on a Chihuahua. Went to 8am with the little family. Msgr. Nelson is celebrating his 16th year of being an ordained priest. When we got home, the boy drew an awesome picture as a present for his favorite priest and we dropped it off in Msgr.’s mailbox. Golfed, cut the rest of the grass, then Alex and I fired up the grill and cooked brats. Thanks OD for the tip about boiling those bad boys first.
MONDAY June 1, 2009
So another NL pitcher doesn’t want to come and pitch for the WhiteSOX. Guess Oswalt doesn’t want to trade in the giant tractor Drayton McClane gave him for a Camero. His loss. I thought for sure the SOX would begin losing today after such a great weekend. The A’s are a team built to beat the present incarnation of the SOX. The A’s are struggling and have a bunch of young lefties the good guys have never seen before and the SOX are riding a win streak, coming home and making them think they will hit every ball out of SOX park. Of course nobody cheered louder than me when Thome but the SOX up big time by hitting one out. Loving the chants of “H – G – H” every time Giambi comes to the plate. Maybe the drugs are why that bastard’s mustache is so much better than mine was. Stupid steroid-era. What else? I went to the dentist by mistake after work. I am a stupid fucking idiot. Cookie and I took Alex to practice and a fun time was had by all…especially by the younger siblings hanging out around the park. They gave Cookie all the love she could handle. The best part of today? - the Old Dog returns to HHE from HHEngland
TUESDAY June 2
Rock practice with everybody in the same room. Nice. Scheduling stuff both with the recording and the Somethingth Annual Big Drag Golf Outing. June 20th? We will see.
WED June 3 - - THURS June 4 – Kim works her ass off to get ready for the end of the year….Alex and I stay out of the way – I took 2 hours on Thursday and had to take more personal time on Friday The last coupla days the SOX start playing like I thought they would this week…down to their crappy competition trotting out nobody pitchers.
Friday June 5
½ day today and it was well spent. Got the boy from school had lunch at Tom and Jerry’s. We talked about his last day of 2nd grade, the things he loved about this past school year and when, exactly he would be, by definition a 3rd grader. He’s very particular about that sort of thing. Hopefully we don’t have a young lawyer on our hands. Afton with Cookie, then Shabonna fun fun fun - - Family Movie night – crash late with Kim watching Hannah and her Sisters
SATURDAY June 6
Early breakfast with the boy, then did some bills. Took Alex to baseball practice at 11am and listened to first Springsteen record while we ran errands. We bought the boy his first cup today. It’s a milestone of sorts. Then the whole family went to see Up. All due respect and love for Pixar where the story is king and they do their best to make a great story come to life with their wizardry….which is exactly how this whole movie thing is supposed to work. The SOX sort of take a step towards redeeming themselves with a win, but this week has been so bad that if I was Ozzie I’d be thinking about breaking out a “you’re the suckiest bunch of sucks who ever sucked” speech. It couldn’t hurt.
